About

The Audiophiles is a blog/portfolio site featuring my work as a radio and multimedia producer, and freelance journalist.

I am currently a social media web producer for Health Dialogues, a monthly magazine-style radio program on public broadcasting flagship station KQED. I am also the producer of an upcoming series of online modules called You Decide, KQED’s contribution to a CPB collaborative on economic coverage in public media (see Economy Story for more on that). I am also a radio producer for other programs at KQED, including The California Report and Forum. Health Dialogues, The California Report and Forum can be heard on KQED FM 88.5 in the San Francisco Bay Area, and on other public radio stations throughout California. Forum can also be heard on Sirius satellite radio.

I earned an M.A. in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I also have an M.A. in American Studies from Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Carleton College.

I got my professional start in journalism as an intern, and later as a producer and tape editor, for The Story, a nationally distributed public radio program produced by WUNC and American Public Media. The Story, hosted by Dick Gordon, features personal stories behind the news issues of the day, and is still one of my favorite radio programs (even though they don’t pay me anymore). See my portfolio page for some examples of interviews that I produced for The Story.

I live and work in San Francisco. If you have any questions or comments, you can email me here.

For more details on some award-winning projects that I’ve been a part of, see my portfolio.
