This past weekend, in celebration of my upcoming 30th birthday, my girlfriend Kate surprised me with a trip to wine country. The first thing on the itinerary was a skydiving adventure.

(In response, my family has subsequently promised Kate a wonderful waterboarding experience for the holidays…)

I put together a narration of the experience with a couple photos, below.

Enjoy.

Nick’s Mom and Dad want to go on record as not knowing about this ahead of time!

You are a lucky guy to have such a generous and adventurous girlfriend. Your narrative and photos are terrific; makes me contemplate jumping in celebration of my next milestone…if I remember. Happy birthday Nick.

Love,
Mom

Please make sure any and all waterboarding activities are coordinated thru Dept of Homeland Security…unless of course you really mean wakeboarding. Don

Now that you are 30 I just wanted to point out that I will no longer trust you. Additionally, I know that my music has been too loud for you for sometime now, and if it is too loud you are too old. So next time you hike up your support hose and want to do something extreme, why don’t you try something like water aerobics

i like how you’re wearing the guy in the second-to-last photo. did u forget he was there and only remember as you climbed in your car and tried to buckle your seatbelt?

Nick, I loved the play-by-play as I prefer to “experiencing” skydiving through you! Hope that your 30th was wonderful with your darling girlfriend.
